Instructions
Wrap cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and orange peel in cheesecloth and put in large soup pan or stock pot.
Add sugar and water.
Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes or until all sugar is dissolved.
Add wine, port, brandy and rum. Steep (low simmer) for one hour. Do not let mixture boil once alcohol is added.
Put a few raisins and almonds in the bottom of a glass or mug.
Fill with wine and serve.
Storing
Store in a closed bottle in the refrigerator. Warm to serve.
