This is my favorite cranberry orange relish dish during the holidays. It is tart and sweet and comforting all at the same time.
Enjoy this in the summer as well, the tartness of the fruits and the chill of the gelatin is a refreshing warm weather treat.
Variation for Cranberry Relish with Orange
I like to substitute one jar of Williams Sonoma New England Style Cranberry Relish instead of one can of jellied cranberry sauce. If you do this, eliminate the cinnamon and cloves because it is already in the jar. This is a seasonal item, so buy extra to last throughout the year.
If you use lemon gelatin, you can reduce or skip the lemon juice.

Zesty Cranberry Relish with Orange
Ingredients
- 3 ounce package of lemon or raspberry gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 can cranberry sauce jellied
- 1 apple diced
- 1/2 cup celery diced
- 3/4 cup nuts chopped
- 1/4 cup orange juice (or juice of 1 orange)
- zest from orange
- 1-2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In large bowl, combine gelatin and boiling water.
- Stir until gelatin is dissolved.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix.
- Refrigerate 4-6 hours or overnight.
- Store refrigerated for up to week.
